Brent Turman Presenting "Fifty Shades of Greed: A Case Study on Partnership by Conduct" for Houston Bar Association

On December 1, Brent Turman is presenting “Fifty Shades of Greed: A Case Study on Partnership by Conduct” for the Houston Bar Association. The program runs from 1:00 – 2:30 at the Heritage Plaza Conference Room in Houston, Texas.  It has been approved for 1.5 hours of CLE credit.

“Fifty Shades of Greed: A Case Study on Partnership by Conduct” covers a lawsuit where a Tarrant County jury found that, even without a fully-executed partnership agreement, the plaintiff was a partner of the independent publisher that originally released the best-selling “Fifty Shades of Grey” trilogy.  In addition to addressing the legal aspects of the publishing industry and subsidiary rights, this seminar will provide a precautionary tale about the pitfalls of working with others on a venture without having a written agreement in place.  Both Brent Turman and his co-presenter Mike Farris represented the plaintiff in this jury trial, which resulted in a $13.2 million judgment.
