Jesse A. Okiror
Biography

Jesse Okiror has extensive experience representing clients in complex business disputes. Selected as Texas Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” in the August 19, 2014 issue, Jesse focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation involving business and intellectual property matters. Jesse has represented clients ranging from high net worth individuals to transnational Fortune 500 companies.


Jesse received his juris doctor from the George Washington University Law School in 2008. At George Washington, he was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. His 2008 Jessup brief won “Best Brief” in the Mid-Atlantic region and was subsequently recognized by the American Society of Legal Writers as the best brief submitted in any national moot court competition that year. Upon graduation, Jesse received the Judge Albert H. Grenadier Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy.

Representative Matters
  • Represented owners of a Caribbean luxury resort in an international arbitration alleging breach of contract against a globally-recognized hotel management company.
  • Represented a lead-acid battery recycler in a breach of contract dispute against a global supplier of automotive batters, obtaining a favorable settlement for his client. 
  • Defended a thermal imaging technology company against claims of patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation, which resulted in the entry of a default judgment of non-infringement.
  • Represented office management systems technology company in a copyright infringement suit against a competing company started by his client’s former software developer.
  • Represented a contractor in a breach of contract suit against a developer that resulted in a judgment for his client, and then successfully obtained charging orders against the judgment debtor’s numerous LLCs and LPs and a finding of contempt of court against the judgment debtor for avoiding Jesse’s collection efforts.
  • Worked on several pro bono matters, involving significant public policy issues.  In one case, Jesse represented a group of minority voters seeking fair representation on their local school board under the Voting Rights Act.  Jesse was lead counsel on the case, taking it through trial in the Northern District of Texas and obtaining a judgment for his clients.
