Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP expanded its transactional practice group with the addition of Ray Balestri and Siobhán Kratovil as Corporate Counsel effective as of September 1, 2009.
Ray Balestri is a well known and respected transactional lawyer with almost 25 years of legal experience in a broad spectrum of sophisticated corporate legal matters, including private securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, software development, enterprise license agreements and private equity and venture capital transactions. Balestri also serves as outside general counsel and special counsel to numerous clients, for which he manages a wide array of transactional matters.
In addition to his extensive legal experience, Balestri also brings an entrepreneurial background with him to Bell Nunnally, including prior service as the CFO and General Counsel of an enterprise software company, launching a private hedge fund, actively investing in numerous start-ups, and founding two law firms after leaving Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld, where he began his law career after graduating from Harvard Law School.
Siobhán Kratovil represents public and private companies in merger and acquisition transactions, including asset sales, stock sales, and consolidations. Siobhán has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including commercial and residential real estate, hospitality, commercial lending, construction, oil and gas, medical product and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and health care. Prior to joining Balestri & Associates, Siobhán was a member of the Corporate and Securities section of Locke Liddell & Sapp LLP. Siobhán received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2000, where she was a member of the Texas Journal of Business Law. Siobhan has studied internationally at University College Dublin and the Universidad-Ibero Americana in Puebla, Mexico.
