Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP partner Jeffrey R. Erler, has been elected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation for his outstanding professional achievements and commitment to the improvement of the Texas justice system.
“I am honored by this appointment and look forward to continuing to advance the Texas Bar Foundation’s profound commitment to improving the justice system in Texas, ensuring that communities across this great state of ours have access to adequate legal assistance and representation,” said Erler.
Erler’s practice focuses in the areas of insolvency and creditor's rights, including bankruptcy-related litigation. He has extensive experience representing secured and unsecured creditors, lessors, and committees in bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations, bankruptcy litigation, and pre- and post-bankruptcy workout and foreclosure matters. He also specializes in out of court workouts, personal property repossession and sales under Article Nine of the Uniform Commercial Code, and real estate foreclosures.
In addition to his active practice, Erler sits on the Board of Directors of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church Foundation and is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Texas Super Lawyers and is a frequent speaker for the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services on topics related to creditor representation, such as collection efforts, litigation and bankruptcy.

Selection as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation is restricted to members of the State Bar of Texas. Each year one-third of one percent of the State Bar members are invited to become Fellows. Once nominees are selected, they must be elected by the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees. Membership has grown from an initial 254 Charter Fellows in 1965 to more than 7,500 Fellows throughout Texas today.
