Xakema L. Henderson
Biography

Xakema Henderson focuses her practice in the area of commercial litigation and has extensive experience litigating high-stakes matters in state and federal court. She has litigated a wide range of complex issues, including data breach, privacy, and cybersecurity matters; complex contractual and business disputes; labor and employment matters; and state and federal appeals. She has also defended vehicle manufacturers, hospitals, restaurants, and universities in class actions, including in multi-district litigation.

Prior to joining Bell Nunnally, Xakema clerked for the Honorable Justice William W. Hood, III of the Colorado Supreme Court and then entered private practice in the litigation section of a national law firm.

Prior to law school, Xakema taught seventh-grade reading and writing through Teach for America in Houston, Texas.

  • Defeated petition for review briefed on the merits to Supreme Court of Texas in breach of fiduciary duty and gross negligence dispute, securing a multi-million dollar judgment
  • Obtained summary judgment at oral argument in favor of commercial landlord in lease dispute
  • Successfully defended leading car manufacturer as first chair trial counsel in breach of warranty action
  • Successfully moved to dismiss putative nationwide data breach class action in federal court
  • Defeated petition for certiorari review to Colorado Supreme Court in commercial real estate dispute
  • Led legal teams in multiple data breach litigation matters in state and federal courts across the country with favorable results
