Christian J. Cowart has joined Bell Nunnally as senior counsel.
A member of Bell Nunnally’s Litigation and Intellectual Property practices, Cowart represents both large and small companies in intellectual property matters ranging from advertising under confusingly similar trademarks to protecting patented inventions to copyrighting original photographs. He also regularly counsels on and litigates issues involving securities fraud, trade secret theft, employment discrimination and business ownership disputes.
Cowart works with the clients in industries including: agribusiness; beverage and food; manufacturing; software, technology and telecommunications; sports and entertainment; and wholesale, retail and services
“Christian augments our IP and litigation teams, adding support as clients are increasingly facing mission-critical trademark and copyright issues, complicated by generative AI and international trade considerations. We’re confident these clients will benefit greatly from Christian’s experience and ability to identify and focus on the key issues at play,” said Christopher Trowbridge, Bell Nunnally Managing Partner.
Active in the community, Cowart is an engaged member with two Dallas Catholic parishes (St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Monica); volunteers with Homeless Ministry, serving the poor in downtown Dallas; and mentors young students in Dallas I.S.D. schools through his work with Foundation for C.H.O.I.C.E.
Selected by Thomson Reuters as a “Texas Rising Star” for 2022-23, Cowart is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law (J.D., 2017) and Oklahoma State University (B.A., cum laude, 2014).
