Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP has added Xakema L. Henderson and Kristen H. Kokenes as associates in its Litigation practice.
Henderson focuses on commercial litigation, handling a wide-range of complex issues, including product liability, contract disputes and state and federal appeals. She has experience in data breach and privacy class action litigation, as well. Before entering private practice, Henderson clerked for Justice William W. Hood of the Colorado Supreme Court. Prior to law school, she taught seventh-grade reading and writing in Houston as part of Teach for America. Most recently an associate with Baker Hostetler in Denver, Henderson was named among ColoradoBiz’ 2018 “Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals.” She earned her law degree at University of Colorado Law School (J.D., 2014) and her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University (B.B.A., 2009).
Kokenes also focuses on commercial litigation, where she regularly represents clients throughout the process from depositions to trial and in settlements and mediations. She previously served as a judicial extern for Chief Judge Barbara Houser of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Kokenes is a graduate of SMU’s Dedman School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2016) and Texas A&M University (B.S., 2013).
