Bell Nunnally Bolsters Litigation and White Collar Practices with Addition of Three Attorneys

David Walton Joins as Partner, Craig Warner as Senior Counsel

Bell Nunnally & Martin LLP has added three attorneys: David A. Walton as a partner in its Litigation and Supreme Court and Appellate practices; Craig M. Warner as senior counsel and a member of its White Collar Criminal and Regulatory Defense and Business Litigation practices; and Arianna C. Goodman, an associate in the White Collar practice.

“We’re excited to welcome David, Craig and Arianna to the firm,” said James Skochdopole, managing partner of Bell Nunnally. “All three have diverse backgrounds that will strengthen our litigation and white collar practices, and we believe their additions to the team and their combined experiences will be assets for our clients going forward.”

Walton focuses on litigation and appeals, representing publicly-held and private companies in civil matters across a wide array of industries – including banking, construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, real estate and telecommunications. Along with his litigation experience in courts across the nation, he has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second, Fifth, and Seventh Circuits and the Courts of Appeals for the First and Thirteenth Districts of Texas. Walton earned his law degree from the St. Mary’s University School of Law (J.D., 2003) and his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama (B.S., 1998). He was previously a federal law clerk for the Honorable Hayden W. Head, Jr. (S.D. Tex.) and the Honorable Filemon B. Vela, Sr. (S.D. Tex.). Prior to joining Bell Nunnally, Walton was a director and shareholder at Parsons McEntire McCleary & Clark PLLC in Dallas, and beforehand a partner at Beirne Maynard & Parsons, LLP in Houston and Dallas.

Warner joins Bell Nunnally from the Office of the Texas Attorney General, where he served as Assistant Attorney General. He has experience litigating financial and business disputes as well as criminal matters, including conspiracy, fraud, bribery, money laundering, forfeiture of property and misappropriation. His extensive regulatory background, which includes tenures as an Assistant U.S. Attorney and Naval prosecutor and experience as a Senior Associate with the Special Matters practice at King & Spalding, LLP, informs the counsel he provides clients, helping ensure they remain in compliance and have the right tools and team needed to effectively respond to enforcement actions, regulatory inquiries and investigations. Warner also has a long military service background, including five years on active duty as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) attorney in the U.S. Navy. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D., 2004) and the University of North Carolina (B.A., with distinction, 2001).

Goodman focuses on white collar criminal defense and complex commercial litigation. She defends individuals and corporations in government and internal investigations, state and federal grand jury matters and regulatory proceedings, including U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement actions. Goodman has extensive state and federal trial experience, including successfully defending a state senator against federal bribery charges. She also has an active pro bono practice, including representing juveniles sentenced to prison without the possibility of parole after the United States Supreme Court decision in Montgomery v. Alabama. Most recently an associate with Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads LLP in Philadelphia, Goodman was named a “Rising Star” by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers in 2017. She earned her law degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Bowen School of Law (J.D. 2014) and her undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas (B.A., High Honors, 2010).
