Attorney Ingrid K. Barnes has joined Bell Nunnally as a partner in the firm’s Immigration practice. She comes to the firm from one of the nation’s largest immigration law firms and brings more than a decade of experience advising multinational employers on complex nonimmigrant and immigrant matters across the health care, technology, engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Barnes’ addition is part of broader growth across all levels at Bell Nunnally. She is the firm’s third, senior-level attorney addition in recent months, closely following the arrivals of Senior Counsel Laurie Konopka in the Corporate practice and Partner Greg Perrone in Intellectual Property. She complements the firm’s experienced Immigration team, including Partner John Smart and Paralegal Natalie Roman.
“Immigration counsel is crucial for businesses looking to stay compliant and navigate today’s labor challenges,” said Bell Nunnally Managing Partner Christopher B. Trowbridge. “Ingrid brings substantial experience advising companies and multinational workforces across a wide range of industries. We’re excited to see her practice grow in Bell Nunnally’s entrepreneurial, collegial environment.”
Barnes focuses on employment-based immigration matters, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, PERM labor certification applications, J-1 waivers for physicians, permanent residency matters and immigration compliance counseling. She has advised employers on high-volume, sophisticated immigration programs for multinational workforces.
“Companies are more successful when their employees are in a stable immigration position, and employee stability depends on knowledgeable immigration guidance, respect for the personal challenges of living and working in a foreign country and a view toward long-term options,” Barnes said. “I’m excited to join a dynamic firm like Bell Nunnally and eager to help its clients innovate and succeed.”
Paving the way for the recent additions and positioning the firm for continued growth, Bell Nunnally recently completed a major expansion of its Dallas Arts District headquarters, adding more than 10,000 square feet as part of a multiyear lease renewal.
“Strategic additions, like Ingrid and Greg, are made possible in part by our expanding physical footprint,” said Trowbridge. “Now that the space is ready to welcome additional attorneys and support staff, we anticipate continued growth at all levels driven by robust client demand.”
Barnes earned her J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2011 and her B.A., cum laude, from Tulane University in 2006. She is admitted to practice in Texas and is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
