Brent Turman was a guest lecturer for the Entertainment Law course at SMU Dedman School of Law on November 7th. In this class, Turman discussed the relationship between the legal system and social media.
Mr. Turman covered topics including how an employer’s social media policy can encompass an employee’s “off the clock” online activities; ways that litigators can use social media to build a case; and the Federal Trade Commission’s enforcement against “influencers” who distribute deceptively formatted advertisements through social media platforms.
