Bell Nunnally partners Saba F. Syed and Brent A. Turman have been named to D Magazine’s 2023 “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” list.
“As a firm, we’re proud that Saba and Brent have become mainstays on D Magazine’s ‘Best Lawyers Under 40’ list,” said Christopher Trowbridge, Bell Nunnally managing partner. “Their continued inclusion is a testament to the outstanding client work they do. We congratulate them on this accomplishment and look forward to their continued success.”
Attorneys under 40 who have practiced law for at least five years – primarily in the DFW area – are eligible for the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” list. D Magazine asked metroplex attorneys to submit nominations for up to two lawyers outside their firms and one within for consideration, based on this prompt, “Which young Dallas lawyer, of those whose work you’ve witnessed firsthand, would you rank among the current best?” Candidates were then vetted by a panel of area attorneys in conjunction with the publication’s editors.
Syed is a skilled litigator who routinely represents companies and high-net-worth individuals in complex commercial litigation involving securities, business torts, patents and trademarks, partnership disputes and real estate. She has worked across a range of industries from energy and manufacturing to real estate and finance. Saba also works with clients in the live events and hospitality industries, providing industry-specific legal counsel. Named to The Best Lawyers in America’s “Ones to Watch” list for 2021 and 2022 and awarded the Dallas Bar Association’s “Outstanding Minority Attorney Award” in 2019, this is Syed’s third selection to the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” list. She is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2013) and the University of Texas at Austin (B.A., magna cum laude, 2009)
Turman advocates for clients, ranging from startups to Fortune 50 companies, in a wide variety of disputes including complex arbitration and litigation related to partnership disputes; business torts; real estate transactions; civil RICO actions; and claims of patent, copyright and trademark infringement. In addition to his trial and dispute resolution experience, Turman has served as production counsel for films and helps clients in the entertainment, media and sports industries navigate contracts, negotiations and business disputes. A popular speaker, he frequently gives trial skills presentations across the country, teaching other attorneys about the strategies and tools he has used in the courtroom. Named to the “Texas Rising Stars” list every year since 2016, this is Turman’s third selection to the “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” list. He earned both his law and undergraduate degrees from Southern Methodist University (J.D., cum laude, 2012; B.B.A. and B.A., cum laude, 2007).
