The purpose of this order is to increase timber production which is critical to the country. The secretary of the interior and the secretary of agriculture are directed to: (a) issue new or updated guidance regarding the tools to facilitate increased timber production and sound forest management; (b) reduce the time to deliver timber; and (c) decrease timber supply uncertainty. It also directs secretary of the interior and the secretary of commerce to complete a strategy to improve the speed of approving and permitting of forestry projects and all agencies to eliminate delays in the permitting process for timber production.
