This executive order is designed to fight crime in Washington, D.C. and to restore the beauty and cleanliness of the district. It establishes the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force to ensure federal participation in a number of tasks, including the enforcement of federal immigration law, monitoring and providing assistance to the D.C. police department in connection with recruitment, retention and capabilities of its police officers and other steps to improve public safety. The executive order also calls for the development and implementation of a program to beautify and clean federal and local facilities, monuments, land and parks in the District of Columbia.
