The purpose of this executive order is to address overlapping tariffs on certain articles imposed by executive orders 14193, 14194, 14197, 14198, 14226, 14227, 14231, 14232 and by presidential proclamations 10908 (automobiles and automobile parts) and 9704 (aluminum), 9980 (derivative aluminum articles and derivative steel articles), 10895 (aluminum), 9705 (derivative of aluminum and derivative steel) and 10896 (steel). It establishes that the tariffs should not have cumulative effects on the same imported articles and sets the procedures for determining what tariffs apply to what articles. However, the order does not alter or limit the application of other duties or tariffs other than those imposed by the executive orders and proclamations listed in this executive order.
