This executive order directs the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) to (a) undertake a review and wholesale revision of its regulations and guidance documents; (b) reduce the personnel and functions of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards to a minimum to fulfill its obligations; (c) establish fixed deadlines for its evaluation and approval of licenses, license renewals and certificates of compliance; (d) establish deadlines for final decisions on an application to construct and operate new reactors and to continue operating existing reactors; and (e) adopt science based radiation limits for reactors.
