Bell Nunnally Partner Brent Turman authored the Dallas Bar Association (DBA) Headnotes article “Considerations When Representing High-Profile Clients.”
In the article, Turman outlines how representing clients in the public eye requires counsel to think beyond traditional advocacy. “When your client lives in the limelight, your job expands beyond traditional legal advocacy. You’re not only practicing law in a court or an arbitration; you are also battling in the court of public opinion,” he writes.
Turman emphasizes that public-facing filings should be crafted intentionally from the outset, “Strong advocacy means telling your client’s story intentionally from the beginning, not figuring it out through the case’s progression.” He also discusses the importance of tone, and coordination with a client’s broader business team.
