Wood notes that hard work builds a solid reputation – critical for fostering trust and generating opportunities:
To build your reputation, you must do good work and find ways to tell others in the firm when you have had success to build that reputation. You build a reputation for working hard by actually working hard.
Wood also notes that willingness to put one’s self out for work is crucial:
It is those who speak up first and say “I will do that” are the ones who get the job. Be that person. The worst that can happen is the response is “No” or “Not yet” or “Not that, but this.”
