Partner Ross Angus Williams and Senior Associate David G. Webster landed a nearly $3.5M victory in a real estate fraud case following a summary judgment hearing in the 16th Judicial District Court, Denton County, Texas, on September 20th. The case involved a high net worth individual who was defrauded of her life savings by an entrepreneur who persuaded her to invest in a hotel and house flipping project. The project turned out to be fraudulent. The judgment included an award of not only the client’s principal, but also her attorneys’ fees and treble damages.
“David and I are proud that the Court recognized the fraud that our client suffered,” said Williams. “No one should have to endure what the plaintiff did. We’re proud to help our client become whole again and to build on Bell Nunnally’s history of fighting financial fraud perpetrated against individuals.”
