Jay believes effective advocacy begins with understanding what matters most to his clients, so he prioritizes listening to their goals and then working relentlessly to achieve them.
Jay Evans applies early lessons learned as a fundraiser for political campaigns and candidates to his commercial litigation practice. As an associate who has worked across multiple industries, he understands that for most facing legal challenges, the law is very personal. What’s important is how the challenge may impact their business and, in turn, their lives.
Honing his legal research, writing and advocacy skills, Jay led the Texas Tech Law Review as editor in chief and competed on Tech’s winning team at the 2021 National Appellate Advocacy Competition — the nation’s largest moot court competition. He finished second in his class with summa cum laude honors and earned the Edward R. and Jo Anne M. Smith Scholarship. Jay also holds membership in both the Order of the Coif and Order of the Barristers.
