Bell Nunnally Partner R. Heath Cheek was recently named livestock chair for the State Fair of Texas Board of Directors. Cheek has been involved with the fair for 18 years and was appointed to the board of directors in 2023. In this role, he oversees the entire agricultural component of the fair, including hundreds of events and contests, thousands of youth livestock exhibitors from across Texas, and hundreds of committee members and volunteers. He also coordinates fundraising of more than $2 million for the Youth Livestock Auction and Scholarship Fund and chairs the Heritage Hall of Honor, the hall of fame for Texans in agriculture.
Cheek previously served on the State Fair’s advisory board and has held leadership roles including cabinet chair from 2018 to 2021, development cabinet vice chair from 2015 to 2017, and raffle chair from 2011 to 2015.
