Bell Nunnally partners Alana K. Ackels, Katie Beaird and Sydnie A. Shimkus authored the Texas chapter of Chambers and Partners’ Chambers US Regional Employment 2025 Global Practice Guide.
The chapter covers core employment law issues in Texas, including employee classification, overtime, “at-will” employment, compensation and leave policies and key federal compliance considerations. It also explores restrictive covenants – such as non-competes, confidentiality and non-solicits – with emphasis on enforceability and recent changes affecting health care providers.
Additional topics addressed by the group include privacy, remote work and foreign worker rules. The chapter concludes with insights on dispute resolution.
A companion “Trends & Developments” section highlighting NLRB updates, a U.S. Supreme Court decision on reverse discrimination and Texas’ SB 1318 tightening non-compete rules in health care is also included.
