Partner R. Heath Cheek is profiled in the “20 Under 40” feature in Park Cities People and Preston Hollow People, highlighting his practice and personal life. Cheek was born and raised in the small town of Chillicothe, Texas, where he began working on the family farm when he was 8 years old. This taught him the value of hard work and that “work isn’t nearly as hard when there’s air conditioning.”

Today, Cheek and his family – wife and two children – live in Park Cities, which reminds him of his childhood town. “My wife and I are both from small towns, so moving here is as close as we can get to that hometown feel in a giant city.”

Listed among D Magazine’s “Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas” and a past “40 Under 40” Dallas Business Journal honoree, professionally Cheek – who has had a passion for law since high school – aims to be recognized as one of the “Go To” litigators in Texas.

Dedicated to his community, Cheek has been actively involved with the State Fair of Texas, helping raise millions of dollars for student scholarships. “My philanthropic passion is raising money for scholarships for needy kids. I was a first-generation college graduate, and I would not have been able to achieve that without the generosity of scholarship donors. I want the door of opportunity to be open for every student in Dallas who is willing to put forward the effort to advance his or her education.”
