Partner R. Heath Cheek is serving as vice chair of the State Fair of Texas Development Team. Cheek’s efforts assist the Fair’s mission of providing scholarships for inner-city Dallas and rural Texas students attending in-state colleges and universities. Last year the Fair – kicking off September 29 and running through October 22 at Fair Park in Dallas – raised $1.2 million. The Development Team helps raise funds through Fair activities such as the Youth Livestock Auction, the Big Tex Golf Classic, the Champion’s Club Dinner and the Big Tex Sporting Clay Shoot. The Fair is one of Texas’ and Dallas’ signature events and is one of the largest annual events in the world.
