Department of Labor audits can be disruptive, costly and stressful, but they do not have to be. This session explored why audits occur, what investigators typically examine and the most common compliance gaps that can lead to violations.

Beaird provided practical strategies for proactively conducting wage and hour audits, preparing organizations, responding effectively if an audit begins and knowing when to involve legal counsel. The presentation also covered best practices for maintaining ongoing compliance to minimize risk and keep organizations on solid footing.
