Ingrid understands that immigration law presents distinct challenges: employers must navigate complex compliance requirements and regulatory risks, while employees face deeply personal circumstances shaped by family dynamics, financial wellbeing and life-changing decisions. She adeptly balances successful corporate compliance with empathy for the individuals involved to create solutions that offer stability and opportunity for both businesses and their workforces.
Ingrid K. Barnes brings more than 10 years of experience advising multinational employers on complex nonimmigrant and immigrant matters. She focuses on strategic case analysis, program development, and sophisticated employer representation across the health care, technology, engineering, and manufacturing sectors.
Ingrid’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of employment-based immigration, including nonimmigrant visa petitions (H-1B, L-1, O-1, TN, E-2 and E-3 classifications), immigrant petitions (EB-1, National Interest Waiver, and Schedule A), PERM labor certification applications, J-1 waivers for physicians, and permanent residency and immigrant visa applications. She counsels corporate clients on immigration compliance matters and advises multinational corporations on immigration strategy and program development.
In addition to her client work, Ingrid has managed and supervised attorneys, paralegals and legal staff in high-volume immigration practices and represents employers in responding to adverse determinations from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Department of Labor.
