Brent D. Hockaday has been named to the board of directors for the Dallas Regional Chamber’s “Young Professionals” group. “Young Professionals” is comprised of more than 400 Chamber members between the ages of 22-40 and is dedicated to fostering service to the community; engagement with political, business, and civic leaders; and offering networking and professional development opportunities.
Hockaday is a member of the firm’s Labor, Employment, and Benefits and Litigation practice areas. He regularly represents businesses of varying sizes in all areas of labor and employment and complex commercial litigation. Board certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in labor and employment law, Hockaday defends employers in federal and state court, as well as arbitration and in matters before administrative agencies. He also counsels employers on litigation avoidance strategies by assisting them with establishing, drafting, and enforcing workplace policies and procedures, as well as navigating the complexities of federal, state and local laws and regulations. In Hockaday’s litigation practice, he regularly assists clients with complex business disputes at the state and federal level, representing companies in disputes arising under various contract and tort claims. He is a graduate of Baylor University (B.B.A., 2005) and SMU’s Dedman School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2012).
