Bell Nunnally has been named to the Dallas Morning News’ “2025 Top Workplaces D-FW” list, featured in the November 9 edition of the newspaper and on the news outlet’s website.
The “Top 100 Workplaces D-FW” list “recognizes and celebrates businesses that make North Texas a better place to work.” Bell Nunnally is one of only six law firms selected. 2025 marks the firm’s second appearance on the list: it first appeared in 2020 and in subsequent editions prior to this year was featured in the expanded “National Standard Winners” list – recognizing companies that exceeded national benchmarks for leadership, appreciation, and pay and benefits.
“Having a strong, caring culture in place where we take care of our clients and each other is core to Bell Nunnally and a key driver of our success,” said Bell Nunnally Managing Partner Christopher B. Trowbridge. “We strive to create and maintain an environment where everyone is valued, and we work together in harmony across functions – from reception to IT to paralegals and into the boardroom and the courtroom. In addition, we always find time to celebrate and support each other as community members. This is the Bell Nunnally way.”
“Top 100” selections are based on companywide surveys where employees offer feedback on a wide array of workplace topics, from leadership and appreciation to direction, meaningfulness, pay and benefits. Total aggregate scores earn a company’s position on the “Top Workplaces D-FW” list. For this year’s list, 8,000 companies and 137,000 employees were surveyed across the D-FW area.
Published anonymous employee survey comments include:
- I get to do work that is interesting and impactful, while working with people who are kind, supportive and always have my back.
- I am given independence, responsibility and good pay.
Active in the community, Bell Nunnally sponsors and participates in a wide variety of initiatives, including partnering through the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program (DVAP) to offer free legal clinics at the Austin Street Center – the largest low-barrier shelter caring for the homeless in Dallas. Through DVAP, the firm has also offered support to the Dallas Veterans Legal Clinic serving veterans in need of legal services in civil matters.
Through Bell Nunnally’s Women’s Initiative, issues such as balancing roles as a working mother and caring for children/family members are explored and elevated to firm policymakers. The firm is also deeply committed to supporting active professional involvements and community initiatives, with long-standing relationships across the State Bar of Texas, the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association, the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, the State Fair of Texas, the Dallas Regional Chamber, the Thanks-Giving Foundation, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers (DAYL) and the Dallas LGBT Bar Association.
As part of its goal of engaging employees and building stronger teams, each spring, Bell Nunnally hosts a social for all employees and their families. Past activities have included bowling and trips to local landmarks, including the Dallas World Aquarium, Perot Museum and the Dallas Arboretum. Among other team-building exercises, impromptu table tennis, cornhole, shuffleboard and pool tournaments are also held.
“Bell Nunnally is the sum of its parts, and we have built a culture over the last 40-plus years of treating people with kindness and looking for how, together, we can achieve great things. Our laser focus collectively is always on our clients and being Behind Every Great Business,” said Trowbridge. “We aim to create an environment where folks don’t just ‘have’ to go to work, but one where they ‘get’ to go to work and be part of something special, with likeminded caring colleagues.”
