Bell Nunnally’s announcement of an expanded its long-term lease at KPMG Plaza at HALL Arts is featured in the Law360 article “Office Snapshot: Bell Nunnally Is ‘Abuzz’ In Dallas.” The piece details the firm’s news that it is adding 10,247 square feet to the 41,693 already under contract for its Dallas headquarters, profiles Managing Partner Christopher Trowbridge and looks at the state of the market for Bell Nunnally and Texas broadly.
Regarding the extra space, Trowbridge comments, “We love being in the Arts District,” Trowbridge said. “I think I’d have to pry people out of here if we ever tried relocating, and so instead, we doubled down and now we’re going to be here forever…”
Trowbridge adds that the space complements the firm’s collegial culture, “This firm is abuzz with activity, and we are 100% committed to an in-office environment. We think it gives us a strategic edge and helps us with hiring. Our young attorneys love it, because they’re getting mentoring on an hourly basis and they don’t have to schedule it.”
The article details that Trowbridge “…noted the big changes coming to the state as the new Texas Stock Exchange prepares to launch and the New York Stock Exchange acts to compete in the market. [He] said clients are also drawn to the business-friendly nature of state government and the establishment of business courts helmed by corporate-savvy jurists.” (The article details that Bell Nunnally filed the first case in Texas Business Court history and remains active in the system.)
Trowbridge says that Bell Nunnally has seen, “an explosion in demand for transactional work, mentioning corporate M&A, general corporate, commercial finance and real estate.” The firm added three partners, a senior counsel and nine associates to its team in the past year to address client demand, and additional hires are in the works. “It’s exciting that Texas is the place where the world wants to do business. And we’re growing to meet the need.”
Recruiting and attorney development is a big focus for Bell Nunnally. “If you’re an associate at our firm, you’re getting real experience earlier in your career,” Trowbridge said. “We’re always looking for top candidates at every level from across the country.”
